Women’s Career in the South of Italy: a challenge we can overcome

November 19, 202112:00Imprenditoria

In Italy the number of companies led by women increased since 2014, demonstrating dynamism and resistance. At the same time, there are more and more women managers, which increased by 49% between 2008 and 2019 according to the latest Manageritalia Women Report. But what challenges, obstacles and achievements hide behind these numbers? How does Italy’s North-South divide affect female leadership?

In this panel we will address these topics with three successful women who choose different career paths. All of them chased dream, dedicating sacrifices, energy and time to it: Annalisa Areni, UniCredit Southern Regional Manager, Imma Simioli, CEO of Fresystem, a Neapolitan company leader in frozen pastry and Valeria Fascione, Campania’s Council member for Research, Innovation and Startups.

Three women who were determined to choose male-dominated fields: entrepreneurship, management and institutions. Different experiences, challenges and obstacles but a shared story that will teach us how to make a difference.
